Substack

Yes: After years of (mostly?) gentle nudging from friends, loved ones and readers, Richard is starting a Substack. His plan right now is to focus on stories: Stories that, for some reason or other (low word limit, low budget, editorial objection/indifference/whim, authorial laziness) never made it into print; stories behind the stories that did make it into print; stories of a fifth-generation Manhattanite adjusting (slowly) to life in self-imposed exile in northern New England; stories of an introvert who would really rather just stay home making his living traveling about and talking to strangers.

Do you have a question arising from something you’ve read of Richard’s that you’d like addressed in a post? Is there a place he’s visited, a person he’s talked to, something he’s witnessed that you’d like to read more about? Is there something he’s never written about that you wish he would? Or would you simply like to be notified when his Substack is up and running? Whatever it is, click on the button below and let him know. He promises to read every note he gets; and when there’s something new to announce, you’ll be among the first to hear about it.
